Jared Levy began his career as a retail financial advisor in the mid-90s, managing money for high-net-worth clients. After creating his own stock and options trading indicator and strategy, he assumed his next role as a pit trader. As one of the youngest ever members of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, he became an independent market maker. By 1999, he became a member of the American Stock Exchange, and before the age of 25, had been recruited to be one of the original market makers trading Nasdaq 100 Trust (QQQ) options.
After leaving the floor, Jared traded distressed assets and consulted for Thomson Financial before joining Wizetrade. In 2008, he joined PEAK6 Investments as the senior derivatives specialist and host of several shows on the Options News Network. He is a CNBC "Fast Money" contributor and also appears on Bloomberg, Fox Business, CNN, Al Jazeera America, CNN Radio, Wall Street Journal Radio and many other networks around the world. Jared has been featured in dozens of industry publications and won an Emmy for his daily video, "Trader Cast."
Jared's first book, "Your Options Handbook," is a practical road map and detailed strategy guide to understanding and trading the equity and options markets. His second book, "The Bloomberg Visual Guide to Options," is a more advanced visual reference guide and trading manual.
Jared is a FAA licensed private pilot and self-proclaimed geek who spends a great deal of time restoring and racing motorcycles and unique cars. He has held real estate and insurance licenses, as well as a Series 7 and 63. His passion is teaching the public how to successfully and consistently trade and invest for a living, keeping risk and portfolio volatility low and returns high.
